Victoria Classic Boat Show

We were pleased to attend the Victoria Classic Boat Show 2008. It was the ship’s first appearance since ’05 and it was great to see so many of our friends and their boats. It seems like everyone who has been working on their boats decided that this was the year to attend. There were dozens of restored classic or newer vessels that we had never seen before. Providence (1903) was moored abeam us and Peter has done a great job on her. We had Joshua astern and Bill and Mary as always, have the ship in fine shape. We had a surprise birthday party for Sheila and many were aboard including Dusty and Harlene Rhodes.

Two people sent us photos of the show. Doug Hankin is a professional photographer who kindly has sent us some shots of the ship under sail. This one is of the ship with a Palm Tree – something that Fred Carpenter, the original owner probably never saw!

The second is by Shendra Hanney, a friend of Sherry and Alan Ferrel, who dropped down to chat copper bottoms over the show.North Star arriving back at dock after sailpast, Victoria Classic Boat show 2008.
